A time to reflect

Here in New Zealand we are about to embrace a change of season. Autumn is less than a week away. I love the fact that we have four seasons in this country, even if sometimes we can get all four of those in just one day.

Our summer has been a mixed bag, but overall the last two months have been glorious. Not great if you are a duck and love rain, but fabulous if you are a sun worshipper and enjoy the heat. Summers are always a long time coming and somewhere along the way I feel we miss out. We waste too much time waiting for the perfect day so we can go do x,y,z. However all those things that we want to do, don’t necessarily need the perfect day. After all Winnie the Pooh is quite happy that every day is today.

With Autumn around the corner, I will not mourn the loss of my summer, but sieze wholeheartedly what Autumn brings. Already I can smell the leaves and feel the cooler nights. My time will reflect this change as my being wants to hunker down. I am listening to my heart and I am excited to see what is coming next. Enjoy every day that is today and look forward to all your tomorrows.
