Routine or Chaos?

The one thing we all know, is that wherever we are and whatever we are doing, the world keeps on turning.

As it does, the tides keep on moving, in and out touching every coastline. At times the tide can be ferocious, wildly lashing at the shore and taking everything in its’ path. Other times it can be calm, gently lapping at the sand, hardly even disturbing the beach. It is always unpredictable, each tide travels its’ own journey, As one tide goes out somewhere in the world, the opposite is happening elsewhere, It is constant, it never stops and nothing can ever get in its way. We are inconsequential on the surface and as much as humans have tried to build barriers to tame the tide, eventually they become worn down. The pattern continues, over and over, again and again.

We do the same thing, over and over, again and again. Does groundhog day sound familiar? We are wearing ourselves out with what we think we need to do to keep up. We can break our cycle, we do not have to consistently do the same thing day in and day out. Routine is always good, but it is ok to change it up and take control of your own destiny. A little bit of chaos is ok.

Walk to work, instead of drive. Stop and admire your surroundings and take that minute to appreciate where you are. It is too easy to just keep pushing forward through the fog, afraid that if you stop for just a second, you will lose your place.

Your place is wherever you need to be, but be present in the moment and just as the world keeps turning, you will keep putting one foot in front of the other and make your day yours. Routine or chaos? You chose……
