Look at this picture. Do you see what I see? There is no right or wrong answer to this question as we actually have no idea if we can see the same things. We just assume we all view the world through the same eyes.
You may be colour blind, you may not be able to distinguish shape, you may not notice the bubbles. There is a myriad of reasons why we can see different images in the same picture, as there are a range of different reasons why we all feel and act differently to the same situation. A dilemma for one person may be the answer for another. There is no blanket ideology that suits every human being on the planet.
We need to view situations and events from alternative angles in order to get a balanced picture. What we want to see or hear may not be readily available and often requires hard work. Life is a journey, how often do we hear that phrase? But do you realise you have choices? You can choose your journey, or let it choose you. You can change your journey or become stuck within it. You can let your journey define who you are, or you can step aside and show it who you are.
In the picture I see pastel colours, I see a calm escapism and I feel peace. I can see how the bubbles have floated to the surface and are waiting to move on upwards to their next destination. I identify with the mood in this picture and I sense tranquility. That is today. Tomorrow I may notice something completely different. Something that I don’t see today doesn’t mean it’s not there, it’s just that at any given time my mood and my direction can reflect who I am and how I perceive the world I am in.
Look up and take note of what is in front of you right now. Has it always been there? Will it be there when you move? Do you want it to be there? Did you notice it before? Ask yourself these questions as you continue your day, become mindful and aware and remember everyone is on a journey that is totally different from yours. No two pictures ever look the same to different eyes.
